Sarah Hayes Records Moonray – The Music of Artie Shaw

Acclaimed vocalist Sarah Hayes recently recorded her latest album in tribute to the legendary big band leader and composer Artie Shaw. The album showcases some of Shaw’s biggest hits like Stardust, Deep Purple and Begin the Beguine as well as lesser known chestnuts like Moonglow, Any Old Time and Love of My Life. Hayes breathes new life into these classic songs singing heartfelt and direct lyrics with a voice and style that combines Jazz and Latin influences with a contemporary feel.

The album features some of jazz’s finest musicians including clarinetist Ken Peplowski, guitarist Joe Cohn, vibraphonist Chuck Redd, pianist and arranger Roy Dunlap, bassist Neale Caine, trumpeter Kerry MacKillop, drummer Steve Williams and percussionist Samuel Torres and legendary conguero Candido Camero.
